In Balrampur district, Uttar Pradesh, law enforcement officials conducted a raid at a lounge, leading to the arrest of eight individuals, including four women, suspected of being involved in a human trafficking operation. This information was confirmed by the police.
According to police reports, nine suspects, including four women engaged in prostitution, were apprehended in Meerut. Vikas Kumar, the Superintendent of Police in Balrampur, stated that following complaints regarding illicit activities in lounges and hotels, a raid was executed at the Mangal Prasad Tent House in the Pahalwara neighborhood, resulting in the arrest of a man named Sahajram and two women.
Additionally, a raid at the 'Aman Lounge' located in Civil Lines led to the capture of Anwar, Siraj, Barkat Ali, and two other women. The Superintendent of Police noted that all suspects were charged under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act and presented in court.
A police officer revealed that in Meerut, a joint team from the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and the women's police station raided the Kabadi Market area, dismantling an illegal human trafficking ring and rescuing 17 women while arresting nine suspects.
Among those arrested were four women. This operation was led by Police Circle Officer Navina Shukla late Thursday night. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the accused at the AHTU police station.
The arrested individuals include Masood, Ilyas, Zakir, Yakub, and Kanhaiya, along with four women. They were presented in court on Friday, where they were remanded to judicial custody.
